ADHD Facts Most Teachers Won't Tell You
A child or an adult, who is not suffering from any alledged ADHD type of symptoms, that is considered normal and healthy, will sometimes significantly improve their scholastic scores when given ADHD drugs. In other words, a normal person's ability to concentrate may be temporarily improved when taking these drugs. Normal college students have known about this for years. These drugs are most commonly abused by many of them to improve their grades! It is commonly known around college campuses.
Why is this important? School officials will point to improved test scores after the prescription is issued as proof that the child was very ill and in need of the drug. School officials many times will also point to drug side effects as proof of ADHD too! This is parallel to justifying that steroids are warranted for a normal athlete, if their athletic performance improves after dosing. Ironically, these are dangerous and fatally flawed attempts at logic to convince parents to medicate their children.
On the topic of your child's future, when it comes to the United States of America Military Service, call any recruitment office and ask about how the use of ADHD drugs affects enlisting opportunities. As of 2009, the answer is no one is accepted while on these drugs. An applicant must be taken off the medication for one full year by their medical doctor before they will even be spoken to. Then, they must undergo a thorough psychological and physical evaluation for any signs of dysfunction.
ADHD And Mental Illness: Did You Know?
The American Psychiatric Association (APA) categorizes ADHD diagnosed individuals as having a full blown mental illness. That is right! Many parents do not know this. ADHD is categorized in the 'Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition' or also known as DSM-IV-TR. This is their definitive text of categorization. Reference pages 85-93. ADHD is considered a personality disorder or developmental disorder by their definition. It is listed as part of DSM-IV Axis II. That is right! Your child will have an authentic history of being mentally ill on record for life. A possible misdiagnosis by a school referred or appointed pediatrician or psychologist and your child's status and reputation are permanently damaged, for life. Did the teacher or school officials tell you these pieces of information? Go to the APA website for verification. http://www.psych.org
Federal Law December 3, 2004
President Bush signed the prohibition on mandatory medication amendment.
See supporting article, "Forced Drugging and Special Services: A Holocaust in America's Schools" by Dr Salvatore Pizzuro. Here is the opening paragraph of the article:
"Thousands of children across the nation are being poisoned, legally, by
psychotropic and other medication that causes devastating health consequences and
death. This “drugging” of America’s school children occurs in order to control behavior
and attentional deficits in classroom environments."

Before the federal law was passed, a parent could have their child taken from them by child protective services with the charge of "negligence". And this scenario was achieved simply by a parent refusing a teacher or school who wanted to push an ADHD intervention or diagnosis on their child. That was all it took! After this Federal Law passed, the corrupt educators continued to push their agenda using different tactics. These tactics will be outlined in the ADHD Intervention page as well as Our Personal Experience page.
The Tool They Still Try To Use Is Called Intervention
Intervention was an honorable tool originally designed for State Board of Educations to assist children and their educators in erradicating the chance that a seriously ill child would develop poorly due to lack of proper diagnosis and treatment. This would help ensure that all children had an equal chance at a good life. The Indiana State Board of Education, Title 511, Article 7, Rules 3-16 for Special Education still allows and suggests interventions be carried forth. Specifically, refer to pages 31-78. Also, see page 39 under the heading of 511, IAC 7-11-5, Emotional Handicap, Section 5a, number 5. "Inapproriate behaviors or feelings under normal circumstances". This is very vague and allows for very subjective analyses to take place. This description allows the corrupt educators to continue abusing the system. This is one of their main windows of opportunity or vehicle to target your child unfairly. This means, if a teacher or school official's opinion of your child is not favorable for any reason, they have a wide open door to target your child for their "intervention" and potentially have your child misdiagnosed. They cannot force you to comply as per the December 3, 2004 Federal Law, but they can make your child's life miserable, if you decline. All of which is under the guise of good intentions for your child. The incentives for corrupt educators to do this vary, but typically it points to a corrupt educator manipulating the system in order to obtain money from State and Federal grants. The various State Board of Educations have what would be considered a relative 'honor system' in place. They must trust, for the most part, that the requests for special education funds are legitimate. They do not have neither the time, nor resources to extensively audit each request for its authenticity beyond a doctor's signature. This is a potential source for fraudulent interventions. I have my personal experience and the experiences of others as examples of how these things are and can be carried out. Click on Our Personal Experience for more information.
Side Effects And Rolling The Dice
Take a look at the APA website's resource, the Parents-Med-Guide. Here is the link to the resource guide. http://www.psych.org/Share/Parents-Med-Guide/Medication-Guides/ParentsMedGuide-ADHD-English.aspx Pay particular attention to pages 10 and 11, which outline the FDA's findings on side effects. It begins by stating the following:
"What are the rare or serious side effects?
Heart-related problems, hallucinations and agitation, suicidal thoughts, and
liver problems are some of the rare and serious side effects people on ADHD
medication may be at risk of developing."
The APA's Parents-Med-Guide states that results from the FDA's investigations find 1 in 1,000 will develop hallucinations. How do you explain this to a child? And the Guide also reports that the FDA's investigations find that 1 in 250 will develop suicidal thoughts. Where should you as a parent draw the line?
